Gold-Rush Boat Charters is pleased to announce the addition of Gold-Fisher. A brand new bespoke custom built Aquafish LOA 26ft. Avaliable for self drive or skippered angling and cruising trips. This will enable you and your group of upto 7 anglers to fish in comfort. With a top speed of around 32 knots, and a very economical cruising speed of 18 - 22 knots. You will get to any fishing mark quickly and safely, producing much more quality fishing time.
We offer a purpose built 26ft fishing boat for daily hire enabling you and your party of up to 7 anglers to experience some of the finest fishing off the Suffolk Coast which offers quality angling all year round.
You don't need to go far as some of the best summer bass fishing can be experienced only miniutes from the marina in the Orwell and Stour estuaries, which are over looked by the picturess Felixstowe and Harwich docks.
'Gold-Fisher', is MCA coded and perfectly designed for angling and other boating activities. She will get you to sea safely, quickly and in comfort
Spending a day afloat in your own boat is extremely rewarding. You can choose who comes, where you fish, how long for and what type of fishing you want to do.
Unfortunately owning your own boat is a very expensive and time consuming business. Do you pay marina fees or go for a trailer boat? Either way it costs lots of money. What about the maintenance and cleaning? Antifouling every year, engine servicing, polishing and scrubbing........the list goes on and nothing is cheap. Whilst boat ownership can be great fun, unless you have the time and finances to make it work it soon becomes a financial burden.
So why not hire? 'Bare-boat' chartering is common in the yachting world but until recently options for the angler and cruising enthusiast were non-existent. That's why we have added this service to Gold-Rush Boat Charters. Now you can enjoy using a new custom built, top-quality boat for the day, then bring her back and walk away! Even if you charter the boat every weekend, it will still be cheaper than buying and running your own boat!
To offer this service we chose a high-quality boat to fill this criteria. Safe, fast, and stable. We went for the Aquafish which can accommodate up to 7 anglers. Powered by a single 150hp V6 Optimax engine. She has a very large, spaceious one piece flush deck, a comfortable 'stand-up' wheelhouse/cabin, two berths, a spirit stove for cooking and making tea and coffee, and a onboard toilet. With a full electronics package and high-quality safety equipment, all you need to bring is your tackle and yourself. We can even supply the bait if required!
We operate from Suffolk Yacht Harbour (formally Levington Marina) near Ipswich, Suffolk. Easily accessible, the marina offers free parking, a shop, restaurant and bar, and shower and toilet facilitys to enjoy when you've finished for the day.

'Gold-Fisher' is available for daily hire during daylight hours although different times can be accommodated (a fee may apply for extra hours or early/late finishes). Subject to appropriate weather and crew ability, the boat is licensed to be taken anywhere up to 20 miles from the marina.
Formal qualifications are not required, however the skipper will need to demonstrate sufficient experience to safely handle the boat. As a guide, it is suggested you will require a minimum of 2 years boating experience, or an RYA level 2 Powerboat/Day Skipper certificate.
We can also provide at no extra cost, a personal fishing guide for the day who has a comprehensive knowledge of the better areas to fish.
Charter cost is from £225 per day. Included in the charter fee is:
Launch and Recovery
Fully comprehensive insurance
Full range of safety equipment including lifejackets, life-raft, flares and DSC radio
Electronic and paper charts (including some tips on where to fish...if required!)
Additional Costs:
Fuel - "Gold-Fisher' is supplied with a full tank of fuel and 2 stroke oil which will need to be replenished and paid for at the end of each day's charter. The Optimax engine is quiet and economical. However fuel consumption will vary due to many factors including weather, sea conditions, speed, and weight aboard the vessel.
Meths for spirit stove. (£2 per day approx)
Fishing tackle - rods and reels are available for hire at a cost of £5 per day.
Bait - Fresh/frozen bait can be obtained for your trip, please request in advance
